'Al Gore' version of the cartoon first posted Thursday morning to What Would Jesus Download. I changed Faith's shawl to a music bar pattern, and intend to use the same image on a revision of the previous toon which is drawn but not yet scanned (Faith knits directly from music which emanates from the radio, instead of just hearing the notes). I'm trying to get a head-start on Sunday's Stop The ACLU Ferret toon, so that other revision will have to sit tight on the back burner for now. The above is the seventh (and a half) new cartoon posted in the past six days.

I Am City Pages BESTEST Ingrate!

I may have lost my 'Best Right-Wing Blogger' award to The Cucking Stool (auctioned off to the highest bidder fair and square by City Pages for $22.50) but I doubt another fellow RWBlogger is going to be able to match my new Best Ingrate title, an award I'm much prouder of than the previous. Try that, Nihilist!

City Pages editors and readers shouldn't take my now closed Ebay auction personally. If you go through the archives of this blog, you'll see that as soon as I make some headway amongst my 'own' crowd, I'll go and post a cartoon which challenges (threatens to alienate) many of my own fans. More than one very conservative person who discovers faithmouse and thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread has returned here one morning and discovered a cartoon of naked mice and moles jumping into ice water holding hands. Faithmouse is art and I do whatever entertains me, on the assumption that might entertain others as well. I think that's one reason why CP originally chose my blog in the first place. I think.

I need to pick up another dozen copies of the latest CP just because they put into real printed words that I'm an outspoken moralist. Those tear sheets may help to get me invited to the RNC next year.

Didn't want to appear rude but I should mention that the name of my cartoon as it appears in the City Pages print article and web site is incorrect; it's always been faithmouse. I recommend adding the single word usage to your dogtags, Spot-it's more widely linked.

I've received no bids, inquiries, or interest in my current auction on Ebay of my City Pages Best of the Twin Cities Best Locally Generated Blog (Right-Wing) award. I suspect the problem may lie in my not setting a minimum bid in order to facilitate activity. Perhaps when people perceive something as having no value, content follows form. Therefore I've revised the listing and set when I think is approximate market value.

For Sale on Ebay: My City Pages Award

I've enjoyed my City Pages award for the past week, and now I'd like to pass it along to someone, anyone, who might really deserve it. Therefore I've put it up for auction on Ebay.

I hope the editors at City Pages won't view this as a sign of ingratitude. I really do appreciate the honor; it's just that I can't really do anything with it. Very few people are impressed that I won it, and the strangers I've talked to about it don't know what a blog is. A number of fellow conservative blogs are suspicious of me simply for having been awarded the honor, and left-wing blogs won't acknowledge my presence. Therefore I believe a fellow established or would-be blogger may be able to put the award to better use than myself.

As for the legality of this, I haven't found anything on the City Pages site saying that I can't transfer title. As I don't actually receive any sort of an actual certificate embodying the honor, I've decided to draw one up myself for the highest bidder, customized to their specifications. A facsimile of what such a certificate will look like is viewable at the ebay listing.
