Bruce Willis Fragrance Ad - Sexy or Creepy?

For those of you who haven't heard, Bruce Willis will join the ranks of many celebrities and create his own fragrance. Random, right? I'm all for Bruce Willis, and think he's an attractive guy, but why NOW come out with a fragrance?

Anyway, I just found this advertisement that Bruce did to promote his new juice. It looks like it's a preliminary advertisement, but just thought I would post it for you guys. Let the video load all the way before watching. Thoughts?

MAC Cosmetics - Pret A Papier

Large Visual - Bloomingdale's 59th Street NY

MAC describes their new collection as "Craft Paper Couture." The MAC makeup artists really love this color collection, and think there is something for everyone. The visual is interesting, right? Maybe a bit of Lady Gaga hair bow inspiration?

As usual, I went on a swatching rampage and started trying everything! Below are some of the colors:

Lipsticks From Left: Archetype, Kraft, Dressmaker Dressmaker, and Made To Order

Paint Pots: Coral Crepe and Groundwork

My friend Flower found this photo on Twitter! Cool, right?

The full collection includes Paint Pots, Eye Shadows, Eye Pencils, Lipsticks, Lipglass, Blush and Nail Lacquers. I think the colors are so pretty and fresh - just in time for Spring!

I didn't purchase anything (YET) but I really want the Dressmaker Dressmaker lipstick, and one of the new Chromagraphic Pencils. What do you guys think, has anyone tried any Pret A Papier shades?

The Price of Beauty

I know what my friends are thinking - she watches THIS? Sadly, I was sucked in. For those who know me, Jessica Simpson is not style. However, a show about beauty? I rebelled at first, but to no avail.

For those who don't know, The Price of Beauty is about Jessica Simpson and her posse traveling around the world in search of how different countries and cultures perceive beauty. They've traveled to Japan, Africa, France, Thailand and Brazil (so far) and spoke to different women about what they think is beautiful, what they like/don't like about themselves, and their personal struggles and triumphs.

Much to my surprise, the show is actually watchable and insightful. Now, that doesn't mean the "cast" doesn't make me want to jump into oncoming traffic at times with their ignorant comments. Because trust me, THEY DO. But seeing different women and beauty around the world really does put things in perspective. Here I am preparing for bathing suit season by attempting to exercise, and a woman in Africa is TRYING to gain weight in preparation for her wedding day - the more you weigh in certain tribes, the more beautiful and wealthy you are.

All in all, I was embarrassed to say that I voluntarily watched anything starring Jessica Simpson but it did get me thinking about how each persons' perception of beauty is completely different.

Two New Barack Obama Nude On A Unicorn Paintings, In Progress

I have two new Barack Obama Nude On A Unicorn paintings in progress.  The first is a painting I started about a month ago at the request of Jr. Deputy Account-

The second features Obama spanking Lindsay Lohan, who's tears in turn extinquish the Icelandic volcano-

I should have one or the other of these two finished by the end of the day tomorrow.

Pretty Girl, Protect Your Eyes

It's no secret that I am a Clinique freak. After I felt like I've "conquered" all color cosmetics, I was thinking..."Well, what's next?" SKINCARE. And lots of it.

I'm in my 20's. As most of you know, it's a tough in between stage in terms of skincare products. Some of us are still plagued with the awful acne enemy, but we also want to dip our toes in some preventive skincare, like facial masks and eye creams. That's why Clinique is great, because they seem to speak to my age group and our needs.

These are two of my favorite Clinique products - Clinique Moisture Surge Refreshing Eye Mask and Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream.

The Clinique Eye Masks are amazing - it feels like your living room has transformed into a mini spa for 10 minutes. The eye masks come 20 to a box (2 masks in each pink packet), and are moist little pads that fit over your eyes. You place them on your eye lids (with no makeup, of course) and rest - listen to your ipod, the tv, etc for 10 minutes. Take them off and dispose.

Your eyes feel refreshed, clean and awake. After straining my eyes looking at the computer all day, my eyes are practically BEGGING for a break - and a nice treat.

The Clinique All About Eyes Cream seems perfect. It's rare that I will use something until it is completely finished (it usually has a replacement in a few weeks, sadly), but this I will continue to buy. Unlike other eye creams, this one is very light and slippery in texture, as opposed to thick, chunky creams.

I love to use the eye cream directly after the Refreshing Eye Masks above - they seem to be a match made in heaven! My eyes have proven to be very sensitive to certain makeup removers, creams, etc - some make my eyes burn, become red, and so on. Not this one. Even if a bit does get in my eyes, it doesn't irritate me.

What do you chicks use for eye care? Let us know! xoxo

ROFLCon 2010 Poster / The Four Unicorns Of The Roflapocalpyse

 ROFLCon 2010 poster

I dropped everything for the past few days to complete the final version of the ROFLCon 2010 poster.

Applicator Allure

I started studying all the different types of applicators that my lipglosses have - short and long doe-foots, triangle doe-foots, short and long brushes, etc. How do these applicators effect the way our gloss looks? What is the best applicator and method? Here are a few that i've spotted so far:

tokidoki prisma lipgloss - Flexible Silicone Paddle Applicator

One of the newer applicators on the market, the paddle applicator is great for glosses that are very liquidy, like this prisma gloss. It's almost like a mini spatula for your lips. It feels smooth to the touch, and applies product evenly to the lips.

Benefit benetint pocketpal - Traditional Doe-Foot Applicator

Probably the most common lipgloss applicator, the doe-foot is a never fail. It's great, because you can apply almost any type of gloss with it easily. Some chicks even use it for certain lipsticks. It's been around forever, but the question remains - is it the best option? Or just the most common?

Tarina Tarantino Gem Gloss - Long Doe-Foot Applicator

A slight twist on the traditional doe-foot, this one is more flexible and holds more product. I like it because you have more control over where the gloss goes. The applicator curves with your lips and gives you a more even finish.

Lancome Color Fever Gloss - Triangle Doe-Foot

This applicator is unique to Lancome - they call it the "Lip-Magnify Applicator." It scoops up the product and allows for plentiful application.

Hourglass Lipgloss - Brush Applicator

Not sure how I feel about the brush applicator. With lighter colors it seems to work OK, but with darker shades it seems to streak and leave some lines. I usually end up fixing the lines with my finger tips to ensure I have a perfect pucker =)

Lip Fusion Infatuation - Short Brush Applicator

I've seen this shorter brush applicator in many new lipglosses lately. Unlike the traditional brush, the shorter one gives you more freedom to paint on your gloss and avoids the dreading streaking. It's been popping up everywhere, from Lip Fusion to YSL to LORAC. A new trend emerging, perhaps?

Do you ladies favor a certain type of applicator? Let us know! xoxo

MAC Store - Times Square

MAC Cosmetics has opened their new flagship cosmetics store in the heart of New York's Times Square. Bright lights, LED TV Screens, and of course, lots of colorful MAC makeup covered the walls of the new store. New Yorkers and tourists who are in the area - go check it out! 1540 Broadway xoxo

White Eye Liner - Wearable or Just For Runway?

I was reading The Bible, aka Allure Magazine, and I came across the Beauty Reporter section. The magazine states, "By replacing traditional black liner with a streak of white, makeup artists create a look that's cool and striking"

Not sure if i'm sold on this ladies! I'm all for switching up your makeup for different seasons and occasions, but i'm just not sure if this look is wearable off the runway. I'm sure it could look interesting and polished on some people, but on me it would look strange and futuristic! What do you guys think?

And if you haven't already, pick up the May 2010 issue of Allure - it's a really great read this month!

Kenzo Summer Perfume - A Tasty Summer Treat

I think the title says it all! My boyfriend's mother was sweet enough to bring me back this very special treat when she returned home from South America. I've never purchased any of the Kenzo perfumes, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

This scent is TASTY. It is a woody and floral scent, with hints of amber and musk. It is a daytime fragrance, but could definitely be worn at night as well - it does have a musky/sexy dry down. The bottle is a bit awkward though, and won't stand up on its own =) It just lays down next to the sea of other fragrances, perfumes and body sprays I proudly display on one of my dressers.

What are you ladies wearing in terms of perfumes? I will always have my favorites - Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, Chanel No.5, etc, but love changing it up and trying something new and fresh. Do you go through phases with perfumes, or are you pretty consistent and wear the same ones? Talk to us about it!!!

I Met Bobbi Brown!

Bobbi Brown and Me at Bloomingdale's 59th Street!

Bobbi's table of treats, including her Spring Collection

Bobbi Brown area of Bloomingdale's 59th Street

So exciting!! I met Bobbi Brown today at Bloomingdale's on 59th Street in NYC. She was doing a Meet and Greet and beauty consultations with the help of her very talented team of makeup artists.

We sat for a while and chatted - she is extremely down to earth and casual! We were talking about concealers, and I had told her about my recent purchase of the MAC Studio Sculpt concealer. She suggested I also try Bobbi Brown Eye Bright, which some of my readers suggested to me as well! I played with the product a bit, and it seemed to be a nice creamy and smooth texture. Definitely on my list to try!

Just wanted to share the photos with your ladies! Have a great night xoxo

I Took Your Advice - And It Paid Off!

Last week, I asked all my twitter followers which under-eye concealer they would suggest. I got an overwhelming amount of responses and love, so thank you to all for your suggestions!

The majority of my makeup lovers suggested I try MAC's Studio Sculpt Concealer. So, being in desperate need of a new concealer, I went to the MAC store. Well, you all know your stuff because I LOVE IT. The makeup artist also used the #195 concealer brush to apply the product, so I purchased that as well:

It doesn't matter if I go to bed at 9pm or 3am, I will always be plagued with dark circles or bags under my eyes. SO annoying! I was previously using MAC's Select Moisture Cover Concealer, which was not making the cut for me. The Select Moisture Cover is the least amount of coverage in terms of concealers, and seemed to wear off rather quickly. Not OK!

The Studio Sculpt Concealer is considered a full coverage concealer, which is definitely what I needed! This concealer, when applied with the 195 brush, covers up pesky dark circles perfectly. It stays put, without creasing, from beginning to end of day.

In other words, LOVE LOVE LOVE and thanks to all again for suggesting it!

Ask The Expert - Make-up Artist Extraordinaire Part Two!

Sabrina shares makeup products that she can't live without! More makeup love from my FAVORITE makeup artist!

Makeup Majesty: Share some makeup products, from any brand, that you cannot live without?

Sabrina:

First thing is first…Vaseline. I adore it. I have like 13 jars on hand at all times. They’re all over my house, in bags, in pockets… I have different sizes…I’m obsessed. I’m constantly lubing up my lips. But it’s also very versatile. It can remove make-up, hydrate your skin and nourish your lashes. It even helps soothe cuts and burns! I’ve used this product all my life and I will never stop!

Second, false lashes… I can’t live without false lashes. They make such a huge difference for both appearance and the overall outcome of the make-up application. I love all types of lashes. I enjoy double staking them as well. (I used to wear 4 pairs of lashes, but I’ve calmed down I suppose). I love to pair up a crosshatched lash with a spiked lash on top. I use lashes from local beauty supplies and MAC!

Third… cake eyeliner and a thin, straight brush. I’ve used a lot of cake liners, but I love MAC’s fluid line in “Blacktrack”. It’s the best b/c it’s water resistant. I also love the #210 brush. I hate angle brushes for doing liner… it’s so awkward. Plus, you get a nicer point on the wing when you use a straight brush. If you want a real old school cake liner, the type our grandmothers used…the one you have to wet and work at getting that perfect consistency…then I suggest MUD's cake eyeliner. I'm also an eyeliner junkie so I put a classic liquid on top after I apply my lashes. I find that it covers the band better and you’ll get a more dense black finish. I also apply liner to the upper waterline, so there is no pink showing and the false lashes look that much more realistic as well as making mine look fuller. I guess I can’t live without black eyeliner!!!!

Fourth… eye brow pencils and or shadow to fill in eyebrows. When you have well groomed, nicely shaped, full eyebrows, it creates your whole face. Eyebrows are so important… they are the shape and expression of our faces. It makes such a huge difference when you have the right shape as well. I know from experience. When I wore pin curls, waves and side bangs, I could get away with an arched eyebrow with a squared off end. However, I had to start wearing a curvier, more round eye brow when I cut my Bettie Bangs… it’s a shape on the face that makes a huge difference. I use MAC’s “Stud” eyebrow pencil and I go over it with MAC’s “Mystery” eye shadow. I then set it with a dark brown mascara or hair wax. I like MAC’s eyebrow pencil b/c the mechanic pencil allows for precise application and the formula is dense in pigment. I hate regular sharpened pencils for the eyebrow… I feel as though it comes out a bit sloppy and the color pigment is not vibrant enough.

Fifth …MAC’s “Ruby Woo” lipstick. It’s the perfect red for me, it’s not too drying to the lips and its “retro matte” finish stays on all night…even through a few martinis’ and a pack of smokes.

And there you have it ladies! What are some products that YOU can't live without?

Tokidoki Treasures

Created by Italian designer Simone Legno, these Japenese-inspired, cult-favorite designs have been given the makeup treatment!

Cromatico Eyeshadow (16 shades)

Bastardino Makeup Palettes (1 Palette with 4 different shades)

Prisma Lip Gloss (16 shades)

Fantastico Lip Ink (5 shades), Brush and Inferno Bronzer

Tokidoki Makeup Bags (3 sizes)

Nail Files

Tokidoki Tank Top

I purchased the Perfetto Eye Liner in Black, and the Cromatico Eye Shadow in Donutella:

The packaging is adorable! But the most important question remains - how are the actual products? I'm very happy with both the eye liner and the eye shadow! The Donutella shadow is a lot of fun - shimmery with glitter flecks. I haven't experienced much creasing at all while wearing it, which as we know is very rare!

The Perfetto Eye Liner is also great - it's a felt-tip marker pen which I love. The application is fairly easy if you're trying to achieve the winged-tip cat eye look. It stays put throughout the day, and is a true BLACK color. Comes in 8 shades, and it's waterproof!

I was tempted to buy the Prima Lip Gloss and the Lip Stain, but figured I would quit while I was ahead and only purchase two things from the new line - JUST in case I wasn't impressed. It's possible I might go back for more!
