My Rahm Emanuel Paintings

Considering the imminent departure from Washington by White House Chief Of Staff Rahm Emanuel, it seems an appropriate time to post a collection of my varied portraits of the same.

My first portrait of Rahm, with bagel and lox poised upon his silvery head-

After posting and auctioning this portrait on Ebay I received two requests for commissions of Rahm in a similar pose.

Subsequently framed-

-and posted by proud art collecter and blogger The White Sade.

Soon after followed a request for a portrait of Rahm with a small loaf of challah bread balanced on top of his head.  This is the first time I've posted this particular painting online-

This portrait now resides somewhere in Australia.

Not everyone recognized my portrayal of Rahm in this Barack Obama Nude On A Unicorn painting-

-but many did, including the posters from this message board from earlier today-

Finally and also by request was born this painting of the three Emanuel brothers in the form of a pancake laden, Christmas greeting-

Repainted Fabric Cat Pancake, Revised Marco Cat Pancake, and A Revised John Boehner Meat Suit Portrait

My wife who is a professional harpist played a few library concerts in upstate Minnesota last week.  Acting as her roadie gave me the excuse to stay offline for a few days and concentrate on finishing a few projects.

A month or so ago I mailed Fabric the Cat's pancake portrait to the wrong address and it disappeared into the ether.  Here's the repainted portrait-

I'm sorry to say that my own cat Marco has gotten into some very bad habits lately.  Here he is hiding behind the bathroom door.  He should.  Here's his revised pancake painting-

Best of Beauty

Hi loves! Happy Friday! So I've been devouring my October issue of Allure magazine, because it has all of the editors "Best of Beauty" picks! For those who don't know, the editors and their staff tests hundreds and hundreds of beauty products in every category (makeup, skincare, fragrance) from all different brands and come up with the Best of Beauty SUPER list! It's interesting to see what they've chosen and WHY they like it so much.

There are so many things I want to try, but have been trying not to spend tons of money on makeup (too bad it's not working...)

So I have to ask my makeup addicts - what are you loving for Fall? Share your favorite new products with us!

OR, is there a new beauty trend that you've wanted to try?

Thanks For The Cake, Mark Potts

Mark Potts of Singletree Productions sent me this pic of his bridegroom's cake, which was based upon a painting I made earlier this year of Mark and his pug-

That's just the coolest thing ever.

On Friday, S&M Lawn Care will debut at the Friar Club's Comedy Film Festival in New York.  In October, S&M plays at the Austin Film Festival.

More H&M Love - Sweetie Vanilla "I Love Lip Balm"

So cute! I'm loving the cute & cheap beauty products that H&M has been putting out as of late. This lip balm was $4, and is adorable!

As I am obsessed with everything Vanilla-scented, I couldn't leave it. It comes in a cute pink tin, and now joins the ranks of the other lip balms, glosses, etc that are slowly taking over my desk. I figure - winter is coming...better stock up. Or at least that's just my excuse... =)

Beauty Seasonality

Hope all my beauty lovers are doing well! Question - what do you dolls do differently with your makeup when the seasons change? For example, going into fall from summer. Do you switch foundations? Do you start or stop using certain eye shadows or lipsticks? Do you switch from waterproof to regular mascara?

I was thinking about this when I looked in my makeup drawers. After summer, a lot of my products seemed to be packed away - illuminators, bronzers, bright colored eye liners and lipsticks, etc. Do you feel your makeup is very seasonal, or do you seem to stick to a similar look throughout the whole year? Just curious!

Thanks so much to Helen Killer at Regretsy for the recent post regarding my Betty White painting.

I'm sorry to say that the original painting was auctioned a month and a half ago, but prints are available on Ebay-

Obama Pancake Portraits

I had posted and auctioned this pancake of Barack Obama a few weeks ago on Ebay, then decided the thing needed a few hours of additional detail.  Thanks to the winning bidder for not objecting to the revisions.

Yesterday I painted a new Obama pancake, which is currently posted on Ebay.

Fabulous Felines

LOVING the visual & concept for this launch. What do you dolls think?

I know it's not a very original concept, but it seems to be an emerging trend this fall (Allure did an interesting runway piece on designers that used this look in their shows).

Like? =)
