Here's another gift that I've ben dying to make since I've been sucked in by Pinterest. Here's my Pinterest page. Almost a year ago or more I saw Heather print on fabric and was in AWE but I recently found this amazing tutorial so now I can't wait to try it!!

Here's my inspiration picture

getting excited about the finished project....but I still need to buy my fabric. 

I'll be making 2 of the same size pillows for my in-laws one with our family and one of Chris' brother. 

I'm in love with the NEW Eclectic Overlays that came out on Tuesday - a must have download and they are the size I needed!

Here's the picture I'm going to print on fabric!!!! EEEKKKK 

I'm so excited :) 

I hope they like it as much as I do and yes, I will be making a set for myself, too!

Primo Levi Twittering With Nixon In Ear Tribute Painting

A portrait of Italian chemist and Auschwitz survivor Primo Levi twittering with Richard Nixon in his ear-



Primo Levi is pictured against a red and gold background; the gold behind representing the sepia-toned idyllic youth of his Italian childhood with the red representing both the vitality of his coming accomplishments and the conflict of a world at war. Richard Nixon, emerging from his thoughts, is symbolic of the fact that Primo, like Nixon, was haunted by memory and sought to come to terms with his earlier political trauma with globally achieved personal narrative authorship.

The 21,668 number is a reference to great American League baseball player Jimmy Foxx, who also fought personal challenges and adversity during World War II. Jimmy Foxx was portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 1992 film A League Of Their Own. Jimmy Foxx was born in Sudlersville, Maryland, which has the zip code of 21668. It is also an allusion to the fact that Primo Levi continued to speak proliferously regarding his loss of freedom ( as seen in the mangled 'Twitter' bird icons) and makes the statement that Mr. Levi would make good use of that form of communication today.

New Makeup, Jewelry, and Shoes of course!

Missoni for Target Pumps

I'm not a huge fan of the Missoni signature zigzag pattern, but these pumps are a nice, toned down alternative. My mom picked them up at Target - I can't believe she actually got her hands on them! The designer collections at Target are big around my hometown, and usually sell out in minutes. I like these shoes, because they're good for every day at work, and have what I like to call a "commuting heel" - a bit on the thicker side and lower than most of my other shoes. I think they're pretty cute!

Clinique Lid Smoothie 8 Hour Eye Colour

So I really wanted to try this, as I have an ongoing obsession with all long lasting makeup. However, I don't really care for the shade I picked out. I generally go for bronze/taupe/beige shades for the lids, and this one is so light that it's almost...white. Like hippy flower child white. It reminds me more of a highlighter than an eyeshadow. Totally miserable, right? Aside from the shade itself, the formula is nice. I applied the lid smoothie this morning before work - 4 hours later no sign of creases. I also like the cooling, metal applicator on the tube - it feels niiiice.

MAC Cremesheen Glass in Partial to Pink

OK so this shade is nothing new, but I do love it! I like how Cremesheen glides on your lips - it's not sticky whatsoever and gives you a luscious, fluffy pout. This shade is natural, so it's nice with a heavy eye or if i'm being lazy and don't feel like applying lipstick =)

Unique Bracelet

I got this piece at a consignment shop in Jersey called All Things Consignment. I like going to these types of stores and seeing what interesting things I can dig up. This shop has an amazing jewelry selection (among many other things) and I had to practically pull myself out of the store after taking home 5 items. The store has an array of vintage, handmade, and custom made jewelry that is just so different, not to mention inexpensive. Definitely worth a look if you live in the area!

Haunted House Jack O Lantern!

Completely not makeup related whatsoever, but I feel like it deserved its own post! My boyfriend and I went pumpkin picking yesterday, and decided we wanted to undertake the project of carving one of the big pumpkins. And this was the result! I think it came out a lot better than we expected, and it was a ton of fun to do. We used a stencil and pumpkin carving kit that we bought for a few bucks at the pumpkin patch. Definitely got us in the Halloween spirit!

A Painting of U of M Professor Bill Gleason With A Dick In His Ear

After having nothing to do with the conservative oriented Minnesota Organization of Bloggers for a number of years, surprised I was to discover that University of Minnesota Professor Bill Gleason was pontificating regarding my past association with such on Twitter, believing that the very mention of my name can be weilded as a tool to smear and embarrass their fine organization, which is probably true. The Prof. apparently has an obsessive hatred of all things MOB, a subject he can't bring himself to stop twittering about not that he would like to. Years after the campfire died and the embers have long been kicked out, the Prof. is hotly alerting the world to the fact that I am a 'smutty cartoonist' while anyone who cares knows that I have successfully abandoned cartooning and have become somewhat established online as a 'smutty painter.' 

To make a long story short, I asked the Professor, who refers to me as cakes,  if he minded if I painted a portrait of him with a dick in his ear, but he has failed to answer my query.  So I did so anyway and the result can be seen above.  This marvelous memento is for sale to the first person who can cough up $75.  It measures 8 by 10 inches and is painted in both acrylic and oil on sheet canvas. It would look very nice in a frame like this, but larger.

Eclipse Bandaid Kitty Pancake Painting

A painting of a cat with a pancake on his head. There's a lunar eclipse in the background, and the pancake features butter in a shape that suggests a bandaid. The latter is probably because I began the painting while receiving my third round of rabies shots, which, for some reason, is taking place in the pediatric ward of a hospital so they always give me these colorful and fun bandaids to wear.



The thumbnail on the Ebay auction shows the pre-revised image. This is a much nicer painting of a cat with a pancake on his head now.

I hate mornings. Like a lot. I must slam my alarm clock off 5 times before I actually get my sorry ass out of bed. Especially on week days, I hate blow drying my hair. This Bumble and bumble hair un dressing creme must have been sent from HEAVEN. I use a quarter-sized amount of the creme for each side of my head. I rub the creme between my palms, and finger-comb it through my hair. I let it naturally dry, and this is what it looks like! So yeah, 30 second hair. Because I need my sleep.

Welcome to the 'Art Basel With A Pancake On Its Head' Show

Glittery Lipstick Pen!

Love it! I was walking around NYC during my lunch break,

and came across the cutest pen in the world!

The bullet acts as a cap, pen is underneath =)

MAC is one of my favorite brands - they are always coming out with new programs that are creative and exciting. Here are the current programs MAC has on counter currently, and of course a little commentary from yours truly =) Let me know what you guys think!

So sexy! It has a vintage, yet modern feel with the perfect pair of red lips!

The collection:

The makeup is all from the Prolongwear franchise and is made to LAST.

I might invest in one of the lip pencils to fill in my lips before applying lipstick.

Love it. It makes powder look exciting, which is kind of a hard task

The collection:

The 3 products shown above are actually all different -

one is a highlighter, one is an eyeshadow and one is a bronzer.

I think the concept is cool, and the design on the powders are bitchin!

12 Sheen Supreme lipsticks. I like the range of shades, and I also like the skinny tube.

...is normal. A mix of lipglasses, an eyeshadow quad, mineralize skinfinish etc.

All shades are in the pinky/beige family which is nice if you want natural makeup.

Try not to copy the above makeup though...

Fall Colour: Wild Colour

Horrifying. Everyone hates clowns, myself included.

So I don't get the "creative" aspect of this, it's just plain miserable.

The collection:

Equally as horrifying. BRIGHT pigments, shadows, pencils and lipsticks.

The only thing I would ever use these shades for is Halloween.

Maybe that's what they were going for? I can only hope.

Another LOVE! As some of you read,

I bought the lipstick Rare Exotic from this collection and think it kicks major ass.

It is insanely long-wearing and the colors are beautiful.

The collection has a mix of Mattene lipsticks, paint pots and 2 nail lacquers.

This foundation promises to be "invisible" with coverage influenced by your own skin.
