There are three levels of bacon in this portrait; Canadian Bacon-the leanist and therefore healthiest meat representing the original Justin and in a style most evocative of his original haircut; raw slab bacon-representing the processed, Americanized Justin presented 'for sale' but also in a controlled state: and finally-crispy fried bacon, which evokes the chaos inherent in his most recent haircut and perhaps a harbinger of unhealthy but delicious things to come. The scene behind Justin is meant to represent a typical Canadian small town rural factory landscape; the smoke changes from pure white to a dirty grey. Justin's clothing looks more like an Islamic hijab than a hoodie; this is contrasted against the wealth of forbidden meat upon his forehead.  It will be very difficult for Justin as a Christian to continue in his career without succumbing to secular temptations.

Bat Your (Car's) Eyelashes!

How adorable are these?! My aunt sent me an email the other day, saying that you can purchase eyelashes for your car. I've never seen these on the road before, and of course I have a lash addiction, so I was very intrigued by the idea. I know they look silly, but I couldn't stop smiling when I saw these photos!!

What do you guys think? Would you let your car wear lashes? HA! =)

Stila Convertible Color Blush & Lipstick

So after my NARS Orgasm fiasco (two blushes breaking one after the other) I decided to try something else just for the hell of it. I haven't heard much about this product, therefore it was just a shot in the dark that I would actually like it. And I did!

The color is a good match for my skin - like a chalky-pink, and the texture is smooth and glides on easily. I'm not a huge fan of using it on my lips (as the product suggests), so I think i'll just stick with using it for my cheeks.

I've been experimenting with different ways to blend (which i'll admit, i'm not great at) and i've found the best way to use it is to blend with your fingers in a circular motion on the apples of your cheeks. It looks the most natural that way, since I don't like blush that is very bright and stands out...should look more like flushed cheeks.

Greedy Middle East Oil Pancake Cat Artwork

The cat represents authoritarian leaders in the Middle East who's power is fed by oil wealth.  The tab of butter on the pancake represents oil, and is pressuring both east and west, here painted as continents of syrup.   The three cat treats are in the shapes of crosses and represent Christianity, the previous power structure which is now scattered upon a dry ocean bed and shall be devoured last. The tongue and mouth are disproportionately large and ill-defined.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel Hamantashen Observation Deck Victory Portrait

A portrait of newly elected Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel with some hamantashen cookies on top of his head-



Hamantashen, a traditional Jewish food representing the victory of Purim, extend outwards from Rahm's head until the last cookie is in a precarious, unsupported position.  There are five cookies and five clouds, representing Rahm's previous Fifth District seat.   The cookies suggest the newly transparent observation deck at the Sears / Willis Tower in Chicago. We can see through the cookie, unable to tell if there is actually a glass floor to support our weight.  The hamantashen also signify that Rahm's Jewish identity forms the structure of how he views the world, up to the under-construction point of the present moment defined ultimately by his own personality and propensity for risk-taking. The blue beneath the last cookie represents Lake Michigan, which seems to be reaching upwards into the tranquility of Rahm's thoughts, anticipating future conflict. The turbulence emanates from Rahm himself.

Gaga for Lashes

So stoked!! As many of you know, I am obsessed with any and everything LASHES.

I bought these babies at Rickys in NYC and cannot wait to wear them! I'm going to see Lady Gaga on Saturday, and thought they were perfect for the occasion. I always see fantasy lashes that are so beautiful, but think to myself "when will I wear these?" Well, I think a Gaga concert works, right? I'll try posting photos after I apply them, wish me luck!

Kate Walsh Creates a BOYFRIEND

SO much fun! I was fortunate enough to attend an industry party for the launch of Kate Walsh's new fragrance - BOYFRIEND. On February 2nd, Kate (Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice bombshell) debuted her "inspired by a man, made for a woman" perfume at Sephora in Soho.

I know what some of you are thinking - ANOTHER celebrity fragrance, right? However, I think this one is different. It has a fun & playful story behind it, and doesn't just have a celebrity name slapped on the front. From Kate's website:

The gorgeous and very gracious Walsh thanked her dedicated team for helping BOYFRIEND come to fruition, which was over a year of hard work in the making. Waitresses walked around in white button-down "boyfriend" shirts serving champagne, while plaid-clad male models doused guests with the scent. Walsh also hinted at "continuing" the BOYFRIEND story...perhaps more/different "boyfriends" on the horizon?
