Pure Color Sensuous Rouge - 3 Shades!

Last week, I shared with you my “wish list” for the fall season. WELL, needless to say I caved and had to get something right? I got not one, but three shades of the Estee Lauder Pure Color Sensuous Rouge lipstick (what a long name huh?) Below are a few photos of each, I tried my best to capture what each shade actually looked like on camera. The shades I got are – Rose Exposed, Fig & Plum Fatale. I really went outside the box with these – I wanted colors that I don’t already have and give my fall makeup a new spin.

The first impression I had was – the shades look extremely dark in the tube, but on lips they are gorgeous and nicely pigmented. They seem to be pretty long wearing which is a must for me. The idea behind these, is there is a moisturizing core in the middle and the lipstick wrapped around it. Check out them out, let me know what you guys think!

From left: Rose Exposed, Plum Fatale & Fig

Rose Exposed

Without flash - I really like this color. A bit of red & pink

With flash - a nice fall color with rosy cheeks

Fig

I never usually do browns, but wanted to switch it up. Rawrrr

Has a little sheen to it

Plum Fatale

No flash. It's so vampy!

No flash

With flash - has a slight sparkle to it but in a classy way

With flash. I used to be afraid of wearing plum but I love this!

Thoughts after using each:

The Rose Exposed is the safest of the 3 - just a bit different from what lipstick I usually wear.

Fig isn't my favorite, but I wanted to try a brownish shade. Not sure how that will go - to be continued.

Plum Fatale - I was so pleasantly surprised by this shade! As you can see, it looks so dark in the tube - almost black. But on lips, it is just so fun and different. I can totally see myself wearing it out to dinner - with very minimal eye makeup to avoid looking like a psycho.

What do you guys think?

Makeup Majesty New Product Wish List

Hi dolls! OK so this is my wish list. Key word - WISH. Some of these things are totally overpriced, but me being me, I don't care and need them anyway. More of a "lust" than a "must" but hey, you can't help what products you fall in love with right? The below items are all relatively new, and all have a certain "one of a kind" appeal. I'd love to hear your thoughts - if you've tried any of these products, or are an addict like me and yearn for them too ha!

Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelee ($40)

Estee Lauder says: A new kind of all-over glow. Powder + liquid + gel in one

Makeup Majesty says: UM, gimme? First of all, I want to feel this product. Powder, liquid and gel all in one? Amazing! And of course, i'm always on the look out for new products that promise that luminous, glowing look that all of the celebrities have. Second of all, it's so pretty to look at!

Butter Nail Polish ($14)

butter London says: We Believe in Rock and Roll. Great Britain. And Fashion.

butter LONDON is the cult phenomenon of the nail industry and is fast becoming famous for our high fashion, 3 Free (non-toxic) nail lacquers and revolutionary waterless nail services.

Makeup Majesty says: I've heard great things about butter, both in magazines and on many of your blogs. I'm eager to try this brand! Does anyone have a favorite butter shade that they would suggest as my first purchase?

per-fekt Matte Body Perfection Gel ($48)

per-fekt says: A glimmer-free skin perfecting gel that "per-fekts," moisturizes, and enhances the skin, offering an alternative to traditional bronzers, self tanners, moisturizers, and the sun.

Makeup Majesty says: My mom has this and loves it. She describes it as "covering up any imperfections on your legs, while giving such a nice, smooth finish." I like the fact that this gel is NOT shimmery and glittery, and it mocks a real tan. Plus, it's one shade suits all so you don't run the risk of mismatching the product to your skin.

Clinique Lid Smoothie Cream Shadow ($19.50)

Clinique says: This creamy, crease-resistant eye color with antioxidants instantly protects and cools skin in the eye area. The Lid Smoothie collection features a unique “cooling” applicator, allowing for smooth and even application.

Makeup Majesty says: God forgive me, but I've never really been excited about a Clinique makeup product. Skincare, yes absolutely. Clinique makeup, no. But, this new product intrigues me. Many companies are using this new technology - a metal, cooling applicator - and it really feels great on skin. The shades all look appealing to me, and the crease-resistant part? Sign me up. Might need to get my hands on one of these...or 5.

Tom Ford New Lipstick ($45)

Tom Ford says (of the beauty industry): "It's funny, our beauty standard has become harder and tougher because we live in a tough age. I don't think anyone wants to walk down the street and feel vulnerable. You want to walk down the street and feel like you're in control."

Makeup Majesty says: OK maybe I just need ONE Tom Ford lipstick. I know I blogged previously on the Tom Ford makeup launch, and whether or not i'd be interested in buying a piece for my collection. It's outrageous that a lipstick could be in the $40 range, so I will have to buy the very perfect shade and LOVE it.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Sensuous Rouge Lipstick ($34)

Estée Lauder says: A funky new lipstick with a "core within core" technology which delivers two formulas with one swipe: a firm, pigment-rich shell which provides easy application; while the jellified glossy core boosts shine and moisture.

Makeup Majesty says: I love makeup that has more than one purpose - a lipstick with great pigment that also doubles as a moisturizer. The worst thing about lipstick in my opinion, is when they dry out your lips. The idea of adding a moisturizing element to a color makeup product isn't brand new, but Lauder makes great lipsticks so I'm interested to try them! Plus, they look pretty haha

What do you guys think, anyone try any of my Wish List items? Or - what's on your wish list? Share! xoxo
