My Very First Rimmel Product

This is my very first Rimmel product - a lipstick! I have to confess though - i'm awful at buying lipsticks. I seem to choose the SAME shade no matter what brand I'm buying. I guess it can be a good thing at times, because I know what lipstick shades work with my skin. But it's also a bad thing, because how many pink lipsticks does one person NEED?!

The reason for that rant, was because I like this lipstick. But it's nothing special. It looks and feels like any other pink lipstick that I own. Maybe if I picked a slightly different shade of pink, it would have set this one apart from the rest. But unfortunately, nothing special or exciting about it. I'm sure I will use it and like it, but no "wow" factor.

Do you guys like Rimmel lipsticks? Any shade suggestions?

Kate Spade Goes Beauty with Lipstick Collaboration!

I just read in Women's Wear Daily that Kate Spade will be doing a lipstick collaboration with one of my favorite new brands - Poppy King!

Here are the facts about the new Kate Spade lipstick collection:

• The limited edition 4 lipstick collection will be called Supercalifragilipstick (yes, really)
• The formula will be more of a lipstick/lipgloss hybrid (which i'm stoked about) and are supposed to be very hydrating. They also promise hours of wear and shades that will speak to the Kate Spade customer.
• Lipsticks will be $24
• The lipsticks will be sold in Kate Spade stores, and on katespade.com and should launch sometime in the fall season
• The collection will be completed with makeup bags with various lipstick prints, compacts, a lipstick-themed scarf and a lipstick journal.

I think this is so cool! Kate Spade has been a long time favorite of mine in the purse department (my recent purchase was a great gold tote bag that i've been using every day). I think it will be interesting to see what the formula is like, considering they are collaborating with Poppy King who already makes killer products.
