YES! "They're REAL!" - Guest Post!

3 letters. O-M-G.

Ladies, if this mascara by Benefit doesn't teeter your totter - then there's probably no hope for you.

Not trying to paint a "Van-Gogh" for you guys, but seriously take it from me- i'm a tough crowd when it comes to mascara.

While not everything in life is all rainbows and butterflies, the wand of this mascara was seriously created by Jesus Christ himself. I can usually tell if the mascara is going to suck or not by looking at the wand alone, and this one passed the test, hands down. The wand is big, thick, and the bristles are magical. I'm not gonna get scientific with you guys, im more whimsical with words, anyways.

"They're Real!" by Benefit is "beyond mascara." It gives you a night time lash within 2 strokes. By the time I was finished applying, my eyelashes touched my eyebrows!!!! Definitely a more "London" look- it is great for a night out on the town- or a night in on the couch with a nice shot of tequila in hand. Mascara should make you feel sultry and sexy, and "They're Real!" will without a doubt flip your pancake in that department. Same effect as falsies, but they aren't! Which makes it that much better.

When I used it for the first time, being the crude skeptic that I am, I definitely thought that the "cons" would outweigh the "pros"- but the second time I used it, that thought went away. Its the kinda mascara that grows on you... LITERALLY.

It is a bit gummy, so i don't suggest it for an "everyday" use- but definitely the "go-to" mascara for special occasions. It makes your eyes POP and will give you the "BAM, IM HERE BITCHES" attitude.

The proof is in the pudding people, so try it. NOW!

Young Stars Who Have Killer Makeup!

Kat Graham
I don't know much about her, but in photos she looks fresh, fierce and put together.
I love this look!

Emma Stone
She's adorable, funny, and can have pretty much any hair color and look good.
Emma is a WIN in my book!

Emma Watson
She’s not just the “chick from Harry Potter” anymore.
She’s turned into such a pretty young girl, and I do love her fashion and makeup choices.
Being the spokesmodel for Burberry isn't a bad deal either...

Dakota Fanning
This is what a young starlet SHOULD look like!
Not overdone, very youthful and pretty with just a big of mascara and lip gloss.
Refreshing. And she just landed the new Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola campaign!

Nicki Minaj
I know what you're thinking - another blog post about her?
Yes. Never gets old. Platinum hair, pink lips, lashes.
Check, check and check. Love love love.

Selena Gomez
A cross between pretty and cute, she always looks good!
Selena always looks effortlessly put together, from her makeup, to hair, to clothing
Sorry Bieber fans...

Really Lady?

As most of you know, one of my biggest pet peeves is people who do their entire face of makeup on the morning commute. This lady (yes, real photo) curled her lashes and continued applying mascara for seemingly 20 minutes on the bus this morning. You can’t wake up 3 minutes earlier to do your mascara??? Annoying!!!! Sorry, had to get that out.

LASHDIP?!

I am so intrigued by this! This is from the LASHDIP website:

A revolutionary, new semi-permanent professional lash coat performed exclusively in the finest Spas and Salons

The Future of EYELASH ENHANCEMENT

LashDip is an innovative cosmetic application that is poised to revolutionize the mascara industry. "Dipping" your lashes just once allows you to maintain gorgeous, beautifully sculpted, semi-permanent painted lashes for up to six weeks!

  • Low Maintenance, High Style
  • Wake Up Beautiful
  • Cut Your Makeup Routine In Half
  • No Hassling With Mascara
  • Shower, Swim, Sweat

It's MORE THAN MASCARA

LashDip is more than your typical eyelash color formula — it goes beyond even the most perfect application of mascara to provide color and enhancement you don't have to fight with.

I am the "Lash Queen" (see earlier posts about Latisse) so a mascara coating that could last up to six weeks is very appealing to me. Though I have not heard much about it so I think I should do a little more research before I run to the nearest salon.

What do you guys think?

GaGa for Beauty Tips

Want beauty tips from Lady Gaga? The current reigning Queen of Pop sat down with People to discuss her beauty advice.

-She washes her face with Ivory soap

-She sleeps in her makeup SEVEN days a week! But says she is lucky to have good genes.

-She wears sunscreen on her face daily, claiming “I don’t like to tan my face because it’s bad for wrinkles”

-She claims her “blonde hair is falling out” from dying it too much
-Her favorite fragrances growing up were Versace Baby and Revlon’s Jean Nate

-She is skipping out on both mascara AND her false lashes, claiming “I think it’s more modern not to wear either. I just wear eyeliner”

-And above all, “Go with your gut. Whenever you try being someone else, it’s boring.

What do you guys think about Gaga’s beauty tips?

New Tarina Treasures

Magic Hour Cream Shadow in Starchild

Mascara in Black Opal

Many of you know that I am a big Tarina Tarantino fan. I love the style and uniqueness of her jewelry and now, her cosmetics line. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with my two recent purchases above.

I had high hopes for the cream shadow, but don't think that I chose the correct shade for my skin tone. I have a warm skintone, therefore cool silvers and greys sometimes look too harsh on me. I think this was the case here. The feel and payoff of the eye shadow is nice, I just don't like the color on me.

As for the mascara, I got it as a free sample from Sephora with my beauty points. Unfortunately, nothing special. I like a dramatic, thickening mascara and this one is lighter & more natural. Not necessarily a bad product, just not what I usually look for in a mascara.

Sorry for the Debbie Downer review! What I do love of Tarina's though is the Gem Gloss (written about in a previous review). It is fabulous!

Anyone else have a favorite Tarina product?

The Many Faces of MAC's Haute & Naughty

First

Second

Third

Fourth!

This is my FAVORITE new mascara. How cool is it?!? As you can see, it has ONE brush, but can be used in two different ways.

If you are going for a more natural lash look, use the brush as shown in the second photo. The tube squeezes off the excess product, leaving you with a cleaner wand to work with. You could also use this way for the inner corners of the eye, or your bottom lashes.

If you're going for a more dramatic & thicker look, use the brush as shown in the third photo. This way does NOT squeeze the excess product off the brush, therefore giving you the ability to layer on more mascara.

I have been using this mascara non-stop since I got it! I used to be a huge Diorshow fan, but I can't get enough of this new MAC mascara. I own a few mascaras from MAC - Plushlash, Pro Longwear, Opulash, etc. This one blows them all out of the water! Definitely worth a try.

Has anyone else tried it? =)

OMG - OPULASH!

My lashes are OUTRAGEOUSLY long!!! I have been a Diorshow Blackout girl for over a year now, and I have to say that Opulash is my new favorite mascara! And I am VERY picky when it comes to mascaras. There is no denying the evidence! My lashes are thicker and longer than anything else i've used lately (and I try everything).

I put two coats of Opulash on before work, and it's almost 6pm and they are still perfect - no flaking, no raccoon eyes, just super long lashes that make me feel pretty =) I've tried other MAC mascaras before - Plushlash, Zoomfast Black Lash, Pro Longwear, but Opulash takes the cake ladies. It is their newest mascara, and in my opinion, their very very best!

Has anyone else tried Opulash?
